Collecting items for our students to attend the MentorLife Retreat or STARS National Conference, or stuffing “swag bags” for Mentor Graduation are great ways to get involved! Through our Peer-to-Peer Mentoring program, participating students can take part in various experiences aside from the 26-lesson curriculum such as: a teambuilding retreat,
career days, program graduation, leadership conferences, and more! We are always seeking partners to help fund, plan or donate items to make these experiences successful!
As a nonprofit organization, we are regularly reaching out to our donors to let them know of upcoming events, fundraising campaigns, updates on our students and programs, current needs, etc. To keep costs low, we assemble all of our mailers in-house. Whether it is one hour or multiple hours, we could always use the support of stuffing, stamping and sealing envelopes!
We’ll hear from our featured keynote speaker, Sherman Smith, a former NFL Running Back & Coach and hear stories of impact in the lives of students.
We are preparing to send over 100 student mentors from the Peer-to-Peer Mentoring program to Sky Ranch for this year’s Mentor Retreat! Through this experience, student mentors from 11 DFW area high schools will have the opportunity to develop strong leadership and communication skills, participate in fun team building activities, hear motivational messages from YES Motivational Experience Speaker Tory Gant, and learn financial literacy in partnership with Frost Bank.
